Artificial Intelligence (AI) Acceptable Use Policy
1.Scope
This Artificial Intelligence Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) applies to Customers’ and their Designated Users’ use of all Products and services offered by Macrobond Financial AB, or its affiliates (“Macrobond”), or third-party products, applications or functionality that interoperate with Products and/or services offered by Macrobond, that incorporate Artificial Intelligence Systems (collectively, “Covered AI Services”). The terms of this Policy supplements and applies in addition to the master license agreement between Macrobond and the Customer (“Agreement”). Capitalized terms used but not defined in this Policy have the meaning set out in the Agreement.
2. Disallowed Usage and Restrictions
2.1 Customers may not use a Covered AI Services, nor allow their Designated Users or any third party to use a Covered AI Services, for the following:
(a) Automated Decision-Making Processes with Legal Effects
- As part of an automated decision-making process with legal or similarly significant effects, unless Customer ensures that the final decision is made by a human In this case, Customer must take account of other factors beyond the Services’ recommendations in making the final decision.
- As part of an automated decision-making process for payday lending even when the final decision is made by a human being.
(b) Individualized Advice from Licensed Professionals
- Generating individualized advice that in the ordinary course of business would be provided by a licensed professional. This includes, for example, financial and legal advice.
- Generating or providing individualized medical advice, treatment, or diagnosis to a consumer or end
- For clarity, this section does not limit Customer from using Covered AI Services for other purposes, such as customer support in regulated industries, or to assist a licensed professional where Covered AI Services were not leveraged in the generation of individual When a Customer uses such services to assist in providing individualized advice (e.g., summarization), there must be a qualified person reviewing the output.
(c) Explicitly Predicting Protected Characteristics
- Explicitly predicting an individual’s protected characteristic, including, but not limited to, racial or ethnic origin, and past, current, or future political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, age, gender, sex life, sexual orientation, disability, health status, medical condition, financial status, criminal convictions, or likelihood to engage in criminal acts.
- The previous sentence (I) above does not limit or prohibit use cases or tools designed specifically to identify security breaches, unauthorized access, fraud, and other security vulnerabilities, or to identify and reduce bias in Macrobond AI Products and/or services.
- Additionally, Customer may not submit images of individuals for the purposes of creating or analyzing biometric identifiers, such as face prints or fingerprints or scans of eyes, hands, or facial geometry.
(d) Deceptive Activity
- Deceive, defraud, mislead, misinform, or disinform others, including to:
(I) impersonate any Person;
(II) represent, or otherwise deceive or mislead others to think, that AI Customer Outputs are human-generated;
(III) engage in dishonesty or plagiarism;
(IV) distribute "spam"; or
(V) distribute or promote misinformation or disinformation.
(e) Child Exploitation and Abuse/Exploitation of Vulnerable Individuals
- Creating, sending, uploading, displaying, storing, processing, or transmitting material that may be harmful to:
(I) minors including, but not limited to, for any purposes related to child exploitation or abuse, such as real or artificial Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM); and/or
(II) vulnerable individuals due to their age, disability or specific social or economic situation.
(f) Weapons Development
- Developing, advertising, marketing, distributing, or selling weapons, weapon accessories, or explosives, as enumerated by the United States Munitions List.
(g) Political Campaigns
- Targeting, creating, or distributing political campaign materials for external public or semi-public audiences. Political campaign material refers to material:
(I) That may influence a political process, such as an election, passage of legislation, regulation or ballot measure, judicial ruling, and content for campaigning purposes; or
(II) Soliciting financial support for (I).
(h) Adult Content
- Creating, sending, uploading, displaying, storing, processing, or transmitting sexually explicit
- Creating, sending, uploading, displaying, storing, processing or transmitting sexual chatbots or engaging in erotic chat.
(i) Disclosures
- Customers must disclose to end users when they are interacting directly with automated systems, such as Einstein bots, Agentforce Agents, or similar features, unless there is a human in the loop, and when required by law, provide a means for end users to interact with a human instead of an automated system.
- Customers may not deceive end users or consumers by misrepresenting content generated through automated means as human generated or original content.
3. Permitted Usage
3.1 For the Subscription Term only and subject to the termination provisions in Agreement, Customer or Designated User(s) may:
(a) use the Data in Customer’s internal analytical tools, including databases, applications, and spreadsheets; and
(b) apply commonly accepted statistical, econometric, or machine learning methods to Macrobond’s numerical time series data for analytical purposes such as forecasting, classification, anomaly detection, clustering, risk modelling, and similar research activities (“Permitted AI Use”), provided that the Permitted AI Use is limited to analytical outputs and excludes any generation of narrative or textual content, or any generalised or autonomous access to the Data via conversational, natural language, or agent-based interfaces.
3.2. Notwithstanding the aforementioned, Customer shall not, nor allow their Designated Users or any third party to use;
(I) Macrobond’s metadata, taxonomies, classifications, or MBDoc structures in connection with any AI System;
(II) the Data (including numerical time series) as input to AI Systems that generate narrative, textual, visual, or other content (including summaries, research reports, commentary, charts or other automated outputs); or
(III) the Data for training, fine-tuning, or benchmarking AI Systems of any kind; or
(IV) the Data in any way that produces commercial, distributable, or revenue-generating outputs that substitute for, or compete with, Macrobond’s Products or services.
“MBDoc” means Macrobond’s proprietary structured document format that encodes the methodology, calculations, chart definitions, metadata, and associated structures applied to underlying data series.
“AI System” means any system, model, or tool that applies artificial intelligence techniques to perform tasks that extend beyond conventional statistical, econometric, or machine learning methods. This includes, without limitation, systems designed to generate narrative, textual, visual, or other content; large language models; generative AI systems; natural language processing systems; agent-based or conversational interfaces; and other autonomous or semi-autonomous tools intended to produce outputs resembling human-created research, commentary, or analysis.
4. Changes to Policy
Macrobond may change this Policy by posting an updated version of the Policy at https://help.macrobond.com/legal/agreements/ai-acceptable-use-policy/ and such updates will be effective upon posting.
5. Violations
A Customer’s violation of this Policy will be considered a material breach of the Agreement and/or other agreement governing the Customer’s use of the Products and/or services.
6. Notices
NOTICE OF HIGH-RISK USE: AI technology, including generative AI, will continue to be used in new and innovative ways. Customers are responsible for determining if the use of these technologies is safe.
